Undercover-Nobody Listens to Rachel
Brrrring Brrring!!!! "Ugh" said Julie, as she picked up her cell phone. She looked to see who was calling, and it was her best friend. She flipped open the phone and whispered in a very scratchy but soft voice, "Hello? Hey Sierra, what's up? No, you didn't wake me up; I was just uh...ironing. What do you want? It’s 4 o'clock in the morning, and I have to get up early." Julie quickly kicked off the covers and jumped out of bed with her phone still at her ear, and turned a light on. "Holy moley”, shouted Julie as she frantically searched for a clean pair of shorts and a decent looking shirt. Julie listened to Sierra's sobs over the phone as she quickly stripped and redressed. Right before looking in the mirror to check her hair for bed head, Julie said to Sierra in a very calm, but firm voice, "Sierra, calm down sweetie. I'm coming to get you; I'll be there in ten." As Julie hung up the phone she grabbed her keys and purse and ran out the door.
As Julie turned onto the street that Sierra lived on; she suddenly noticed the smoke rising into the air. Julie drove forward, only imagining what could have happened to her best friend's house. As Julie got closer, she could smell the wood burning, and saw the remnants of the wooden studs turn to black ash. Julie parked her car in the neighbor's yard, trying to stay out of the way of the busy firemen putting out the flames. Julie got out of her car, her eyes fixed on the house she was walking towards. Sierra ran to Julie, nearly knocking her over as she hugged Julie, and knocked her out of the absent-minded state she was in. Julie looked at Sierra and smiled, feeling so much better that Sierra had been unharmed by the flames. "I'm so glad you came! I have nowhere else to go." said Sierra, as she began to sob. "You do have a place to go." said Julie in a firm tone. "You are coming home with me." Julie held Sierra for a while, and just let her cry. After a few minutes of silently weeping, Sierra looked up at Julie and wiped her eyes. "Thanks Jules" she said smiling. They watched the firemen finish putting out what was left of the fire, then got in Julie's car and left. When they got back to Julie's house, Julie told Sierra to wait on the couch while she fixed her bed in the next room. When she was done, she went back to Sierra, and said, "Your bed is ready, and I put some pajamas on your bed since yours are ruined." Sierra looked at her nightgown and noticed how the bottom was scorched and one of the sleeves had been burnt off. Sierra said to Julie, "Thanks again Jules, you really have no idea how much this means to me." and before Julie could say 'you’re welcome', Sierra had already hugged her again. Julie then said, "Ok, I'm tired, you're tired, and we have to get up early, so let’s go to bed." Sierra walked into her room, and got ready for bed, while Julie went to her room and looked in the mirror before getting back into her pajamas. She took the hair bow out of her hair, just letting it flow half way down her back, and said to herself in the mirror, "You did good Julie, you did good." Julie got back into her pajamas, and before getting into her bed, she walked into Sierra's room and noticed she was already under the covers, and said "I'll see you in the morning Sierra, good-night.” Sierra smiled at Julie and closed her eyes and went to sleep. Julie walked back into her room and plopped down on her bed. She got under the covers and before closing her eyes, she looked at the alarm clock on her bedside. It was 4:43. She shook her head and closed her eyes and went to sleep...
Julie woke abruptly to the sound of her alarm clock radio, and jumped up as if someone tried to attack her. Julie came to her senses and realized it was just her alarm. She was sleeping so well until she had to wake up. Julie picked up her alarm clock and looked at the time on it: 6:46. It was time for her to get ready for work; because she knew she had a long day ahead of her. Julie got up from her warm and cozy bed and stepped onto the rough carpet of her floor. Julie yawned as she walked over to the mirror and looked at how pitiful she was in her pajamas. She had bed head, which she grunted over because it would take forever to fix, and one leg of her pajama bottoms had ridden up during the night. Julie laughed at herself and went into Sierra's room to wake her up. Julie gently nudged Sierra to wake her up, and softly whispered to her, "Sierra, it’s time to get up." When that didn't work, Julie put her hands on her hips, smiled, and walked over to Sierra's window. Julie pulled back the curtains as far as they could go then went over to the bed and yanked the covers off of Sierra. Sierra woke up, and when she saw the light shining through, she squinted at Julie, glaring at her with an evil eye for waking her up. Sierra got up and walked over to her mirror. She looked just as bad as Julie, and when they both noticed what they looked like, they just laughed at each other and went to get ready. Julie went to her bathroom to take a shower, hoping it would get rid of her morning fatigue. Julie turned the shower on, and stepped into the shower. Julie only had one shower, so while Julie was in the shower, Sierra looked in Julie's closet for something to wear. She knew she could just throw on some scrubs when she got to work, but for now until she got there, she needed something to wear. "It’s a good thing we are the same size!" Sierra said to herself as she pulled out a cute pink polo hanging in Julie's closet. When Julie came out of the shower, Sierra had picked out an outfit, and was digging around in Julie's make up. "Who said you could look in my make up?!" said Julie in a very commanding tone. Sierra looked up with the most innocent smile, and said, "I was just looking, seems to me like you aren’t going to use it anytime soon." Sierra had noticed that Julie just had a towel wrapped around her after getting out of the shower, and realized how well it portrayed her friend's lovely figure. "Well shower's ready if you want to take one, or you can just go to work stinking" said Julie, as Sierra zipped up Julie's make up bag, deciding to keep all of her remarks to herself. Sierra got up, and went to the cabinet near Julie's dresser, and pulled out a clean towel. "I'll take the first" she said as she walked into the bathroom and closed the door. Julie just smiled and got dressed. When Sierra came out, Julie was ready. She let Sierra go into her room and get dressed, while she flipped on the TV to check the day's weather. The weather seemed to be doing okay, so Julie flipped through the channels as Sierra was getting ready. After about 15 minutes, Sierra opened the door to her room, and said to Julie, "Ready." Julie just smiled, grabbed her keys and her purse, and they both headed out the door.
When they were about 3 minutes away from the hospital, Julie checked the clock on the dashboard. 7:33. Julie smiled and said to Sierra, "Ok Sierra, tuck and roll!" Sierra just smiled and rolled her eyes. When they got to the hospital, Julie stopped the car and put in park.
